Content Strategy
Inputs
Prioritize reading existing account briefs, historical content, and data. Only confirm the following if they are missing and their answers would change the strategy:
- Niche, persona, and target audience.
- Business goals and priorities for the current stage.
- Existing platforms, account stage, and historical performance.
- Update frequency, team size, and available time.
- Sustainable first-hand evidence and content sources.
- Commercial goals, brand boundaries, and content that must not be produced.
You can create an account profile using account-profile-template.md.
Method
1. Define the Positioning Promise
Use one sentence to explain who the account serves, for whom, what value it consistently provides, and why the audience should believe it. The positioning must constrain topic selection and avoid vague slogans.
2. Map Goals to Content Types
| Type | Primary Role | Common Formats |
|---|
| Audience Growth | Be discovered by new users | Tutorials, pitfall guides, counterintuitive insights, trend explanations |
| Engagement | Activate the existing audience | Questions, choices, debates, shared experiences |
| Trust | Build credibility and a distinctive voice | Case studies, behind-the-scenes content, retrospectives, in-depth methods |
| Conversion | Support products or services | Reviews, Q&A, case studies, collaborations |
Do not apply a fixed ratio. Propose an initial content mix based on the account stage, historical data, and production capacity, and clearly state that it is a hypothesis to be validated.
3. Build a Topic Pool
Record at least the following for each topic:
- Core theme and one-sentence hook.
- Content goal and target audience.
- Primary platform and expansion platforms.
- First-hand evidence and remaining evidence gaps.
- Timeliness window, priority, and estimated cost.
- Whether it belongs to a series.
Use topic-pool-template.md. Prioritize topics that can be produced sustainably, reinforce the positioning, and are supported by real evidence.
4. Design Content Series
Consolidate scattered topics into two to four series. For each series, define the content promise, evidence sources, suitable platforms, update frequency, and stop conditions.
5. Generate a Content Calendar
Allocate production capacity before assigning dates. Keep slots available for trending topics and avoid locking in all future content. Set only one attributable experiment variable per cycle. Use content-calendar-template.md. Create scheduled reminders only when the user explicitly requests them and the current environment supports scheduling.
Outputs
Deliver:
- A one-sentence positioning statement.
- Stage goals and content mix hypotheses.
- Two to four content series.
- A topic pool.
- A weekly or monthly calendar.
- Success metrics, stop conditions, and the only experiment for the current cycle.
If historical data is insufficient, explicitly state "Establish a baseline" and do not fabricate precise targets.
