  1. Keep theme in host CSS/semantic HTML. Never write pack strings into HTML or alter closed Shadow DOM internals.
  2. Define semantic tokens, focus/hover/pressed states, 44px targets, responsive/zoom behavior, reduced motion, and contrast. Character/art references inform content only when licensed.
  3. Preserve the live runtime as product proof and prevent controls/tooltips from blocking pointer behavior.
  4. Run contrast, keyboard, overflow, no-JS, CSP, performance, and screenshot audits. Route character appearance changes to create-peekling-skin.
