Scroll-Stopping Techniques
Bold text overlay: 6 words or fewer, huge type (text-5xl to text-7xl), high contrast against background.
Faces and eyes: Human faces grab attention in any feed.
Unexpected color: One saturated color against muted or dark background.
Pattern interrupt: Break the feed's visual rhythm with asymmetry or negative space.
Contrast is king: If it blends into the feed, it fails.
Carousel Design
Cover slide = the hook. Bold, clear, curiosity-inducing. Interior slides = one idea per slide. Consistent template: same background, fonts, layout. Last slide = CTA. Max 10 slides, sweet spot is 5-7. Number slides for educational content (1/7, 2/7).
Platform Personality
Instagram: Visual-first, aspirational. Grid aesthetic matters. Carousel posts get 2x engagement.
Twitter/X: Text-heavy images work. Bold opinions as typographic posts. Dark backgrounds stand out.
LinkedIn: Data and statistics get highest engagement. Carousel PDFs are the top format. Personal > corporate.
TikTok: Vertical only. Text must be massive. Safe zones: top 150px, bottom 270px covered by UI.
YouTube: Thumbnails are everything. Max 3-4 words, expressive face, bright colors. Thumbnails display at 120px wide in sidebar.
Pinterest: Vertical pins dominate. Text overlay with clear value proposition. Actionable content drives saves.
Caption Formulas
Hook line: Question, stat, bold claim, or story opener. This determines if someone reads further.
Body: Deliver value. Short paragraphs. Line breaks between ideas.
CTA: Specific action: "Save for later," "Tag someone who needs this," "Link in bio."
Hashtags: 3-5 targeted. Mix broad (#design) with niche (#saaslandingpages).
Color Psychology for Social
Red = urgency (sales, announcements). Blue = trust (corporate, tech). Yellow/Orange = energy (food, lifestyle). Green = growth (wellness). Purple = luxury (premium, beauty). Black = power (fashion). White = clarity (minimalist tech).
