• Do not rush to act after concentration — set "trigger conditions": What signal will prompt us to strike with all our strength? (e.g., the target customer sends a clear purchase intention, the competitor makes a major mistake, etc.)
• Continuously collect information and improve preparations during the waiting period.

Step 3: Annihilation-style execution

• Once the trigger conditions are met, invest all resources without leaving a way out. The goal is "annihilation" — completely win this customer/market/problem, not "give it a try".
• Signs of annihilation: Win a benchmark customer and become its preferred supplier; rank first in a niche market with a significant gap from the second place; completely solve a technical/product problem so that it no longer recurs.
• After successful annihilation, use the results (benchmark cases/market share/experience accumulation) as leverage to accumulate resources for the next main attack direction.

Scenarios not to use

1. Exploration period/extremely high uncertainty: Concentrating all resources too early when the direction has not been verified is gambling. First use a small force to test and verify, then concentrate resources.
2. Core business that must be maintained across multiple fronts: Some businesses must maintain operation (delivery for core customers, compliance requirements), and cannot let the core business collapse for the sake of concentration.
3. When the opponent is also concentrating: If the opponent also concentrates superior forces on your main attack direction, head-on confrontation is not a good choice — you need to change direction or use guerrilla tactics.

Failure Modes (from counterexamples)

• "Two fists striking"(ce18): The most hidden dispersion — it seems to only split into two routes, but essentially it is still resource dispersion. "Two fists seem aggressive, but in reality one is idle and the other is fatigued."
• Six-way division of troops(ce04): The most extreme dispersion — "full-line resistance" seems heroic, but it is actually military equalitarianism. Fear of losing any position, resulting in losing everything.
• "Resist the enemy outside the country's borders"(ce11): Unwilling to give up any direction — "unwilling to lose part of the land, resulting in losing all land". Kidnapped by sunk costs, dare not make strategic abandonment.

Author's Blind Spot

• Mao Zedong emphasized concentrating troops, but in some periods he also made mistakes of over-concentration leading to the collapse of other directions (such as the 1947 Northern Shaanxi battlefield). Lesson: The premise of concentration is that "secondary directions can be maintained" — if concentration leads to the collapse of the core business, then concentration is suicide rather than strategy. A balance must be found between "maintaining the core business" and "concentrating for breakthrough".
