Readers sense the world is a backdrop, not a living system. Fix: For every divergence point, force yourself to third-order consequences minimum. Ask "And then what?" repeatedly.

Economic change drives political change drives social change. Isolated exploration misses the richness. Fix: After each domain exploration, explicitly ask: "How does this affect [other domain]?" Map at least 3 intersections.

Readers need to see, hear, smell the differences. Fix: For each major consequence, define: What would a character notice? What new behaviors are visible? What language has changed?
