Chinese自然な日本語を書くためには
Writing Natural Japanese
文章における自然さとは、文章が置かれる文脈と、そこで伝えるべき意味関係から判断されるべきものである。
特定の語彙、構文、記号、文長などの特徴量として扱うのは、別のLLM臭い文章を生成するだけである。
Naturalness in writing should be judged from the context in which the text appears and the relationships of meaning it is intended to convey. Treating it as a matter of features such as particular vocabulary, syntax, punctuation, or sentence length only produces writing that sounds like it came from a different LLM.
優先順位
Priorities
- Preserve facts, meaning, qualifications, causality, possibility, certainty, and domain-specific distinctions.
- Follow the terminology, orthography, style, and style exemplars specified by the user.
- When existing text is available, do not unnecessarily homogenize the writer’s vocabulary, tone, information density, use of symbols, or degree of informality.
- Respect expressions established for a particular purpose, audience, medium, or field.
- Clarify any point that would otherwise require readers to make extra inferences to reconstruct the relationships of meaning.
In the name of naturalness, do not weaken the meaning or add explanations that make claims more definite.
文脈を決める
Establish the Context
依頼文と入力文から、用途、読者、媒体、分野、既存の語り口を推定する。
学術論文なのか、メールなのか、親しい友人とのチャットなのか、それぞれのシチュエーションに適した自然な日本語のペルソナを把握する必要がある。
Infer the purpose, audience, medium, field, and existing voice from the request and the input text.
You need to identify the natural Japanese persona suited to each situation, whether it is an academic paper, an email, or a casual chat with a close friend.
意味の不変条件を押さえる
Identify the Invariants of Meaning
書き換える前に、変えてはいけない内容を確認する。
- 誰が、何が、どの対象について述べられているか
- 何が起きたか、何をしたか、どの状態になったか
- 原因、条件、結果、対比、例外の関係
- 数値、時点、範囲、前提条件
- 専門用語や概念間の区別
- 意図的に残されている曖昧さ
Before rewriting, confirm what must not change.
- Who is stating or doing what about which target
- What happened, what was done, or what state resulted
- Relationships of cause, condition, result, contrast, and exception
- Numbers, points in time, ranges, and preconditions
- Distinctions between technical terms or concepts
- Ambiguity that has been intentionally retained
文の意味構造を見る
Examine the Semantic Structure
述語が何を表しているか
What the Predicate Expresses
述語が表す動作、状態、変化と、それに関わる対象が読み手に分かるかをチェックする。
日本語では主語や目的語の省略が自然に起こるため、省略されているという理由だけでそれらを補ってはならない。
ただし、参照先が複数ある、責任主体が重要である、操作対象が分からないなど、意味の取り違えが起きる場合は必要な名詞を再提示する。
「誰が・何を・どうした」を毎文明示すること自体は目的にしない。必要な関係を、文脈から無理なく復元できることを目的にする。
Check whether the action, state, or change represented by the predicate, and the objects involved, are clear to the reader.
In Japanese, subjects and objects are often naturally omitted, so do not supply them merely because they have been omitted. However, if there are multiple possible referents, the responsible party is important, or the target of an operation is unclear, reintroduce the necessary nouns.
The goal is not to explicitly state “who did what to whom, and how” in every sentence. The goal is to make it possible to reconstruct the necessary relationships naturally from the context.
抽象的な語を具体化する
Make Abstract Language Concrete
Do not reject terms such as “breaks,” “works,” “hits,” “crushes,” “silently,” “falls,” or “failure mode” merely because of the terms themselves. The problem is that such predicates are overly abstract and increase ambiguity.
For example, “When the cache expires, it breaks silently” does not make clear what fails or what “silently” means.
If the actual behavior is known, write at the level of observable states: “When the cache expires, it returns an empty result without raising an error.”
“This is the same failure mode as before” may be difficult to understand in an everyday conversation unless the details of the failure are shared. If it means that the same failure has occurred again, it can be written as “the same failure occurs as before.” Provide concrete details only when the content is known.
Conversely, preserve established technical terms and their distinctions, such as “failure mode” in reliability engineering.
Never replace an abstract expression with another abstract expression.
圧縮された関係を必要なだけ展開する
Expand Compressed Relationships Only as Needed
名詞化、体言止め、名詞の連続、スラッシュ、中黒などが、動作、因果、比較、条件を隠していないかを見る。
「出力品質改善方針の検討」が通常の説明文で関係を曖昧にしているなら、「出力の品質をどう改善するか検討する」と展開できる。
一方、見出し、表、メモなど、名詞句が媒体として自然ならその形式を保つ。
短文化のために動作や因果まで削り、読者に関係を推測させてはいけない。
Check whether nominalization, nominal sentence endings, chains of nouns, slashes, or interpuncts conceal actions, causality, comparisons, or conditions.
If “consideration of an output-quality improvement policy” makes the relationships unclear in ordinary explanatory prose, it can be expanded to “consider how to improve output quality.”
On the other hand, preserve noun phrases as a medium when they are natural in headings, tables, notes, or similar formats.
Do not remove actions or causal relationships merely to shorten the text and force readers to infer them.
係り受けを確認する
Check Referential Dependencies
「これ」「それ」「両者」「片方」などが複数の対象を指し得る場合は、必要な名詞を言い直す。
修飾語の係り先が曖昧な場合は、語順を変えるか文を分ける。
If terms such as “this,” “that,” “both,” or “one” could refer to multiple objects, restate the necessary noun.
If the antecedent of a modifier is ambiguous, change the word order or split the sentence.
因果関係・相関関係の強さを保つ
Preserve the Strength of Causal Relationships and Correlations
翻訳やリライトで、原因を相関へ、可能性を断定へ、示唆を証明へ変えない。
cause、drive、enable、allow、suggest、indicate、silently などを一語ずつ対応させるのではなく、その文で実際に表している因果、能力、許容、推論の強さを日本語で再構成する。
When translating or rewriting, do not turn causation into correlation, possibility into certainty, or suggestion into proof.
Rather than mapping words such as cause, drive, enable, allow, suggest, indicate, and silently one for one, reconstruct in Japanese the actual causal relationship, capacity, permission, and strength of inference expressed by the sentence.
主客のコロケーション
Subject–Object Collocation
主語・目的語と述語の組み合わせが、その分野や文脈で自然に使われているかを確認する。
英語からの直訳的な語法や強い比喩を直す際も、因果や確信度を変えない。対照例の「主客のコロケーション」も参照する。
Check whether combinations of subjects, objects, and predicates are used naturally in the relevant field and context.
When correcting unnatural syntax or strong metaphors derived from English, do not change causality or certainty. See the contrast example of “subject-object collocation” as well.
文章上・文脈上の役割を見る
Examine Roles Within the Text and Context
Check whether introductions, contrasts, emphasis, and connections actually express their relationship to the content that follows. If they merely preview or restate the content, they can be omitted.
Likewise, concession constructions, redefinitions, and rhetoric of betrayal do not always serve a meaningful role. A text does not necessarily need to contain oppositional structures or surprises. A structure that exists across the text as a whole does not necessarily hold on a sentence-by-sentence basis either.
In particular, when a sentence with a negative nuance exists only to make the surrounding text stand out, readers are likely to expend unnecessary attention on it.
Assess boldface, bullet points, parentheses, dashes, emoji, and nominal sentence endings by their contextual function rather than by their mere presence.
語彙と専門性
Vocabulary and Expertise
専門用語は、その分野で定着した語を優先する。
不自然な直訳語や共起は、原語らしき単語を機械的に別の単語へ置換せず、その文が表す動作や関係から書き直す。
外部資料を参照できる場合は、辞書上の可能性より、その分野の教科書、学会、官公庁、規格、公式文書などの実際の用例を優先する。
Prioritize terminology established within the relevant field.
For unnatural calques or collocations, do not mechanically replace a suspected source-language word with another word. Rewrite it based on the action and relationships that the sentence expresses.
When external sources are available, prioritize actual usage in textbooks, academic societies, government agencies, standards, and official documents over possibilities listed in dictionaries.
過剰修正を避ける
Avoid Overcorrection
受動態、無生物主語、名詞化、漢語、カタカナ語、比喩、体言止め、接続語、記号を、それ自体を理由に避ける必要はない。(ただし、不自然な日本語にはこれらの要素を含みやすいことは否定しない)
一方、それらが主体、対象、状態変化、因果、限定を隠し、読み手に不要な推論を要求している場合は修正する。
Passive voice, inanimate subjects, nominalization, Sino-Japanese vocabulary, katakana words, metaphor, nominal sentence endings, connectives, and symbols need not be avoided in themselves. (This does not deny that unnatural Japanese often contains these elements.)
However, revise them when they obscure the subject, object, state change, causality, or qualifications and require readers to make unnecessary inferences.
